Idea pitch

13 disabled women will be faced with versatile challenges, from ones showing their more soft side and some showing their bold side.At the end, when they’ve finished the challenges they will have the chance to show the most feminine version of themselves in a runway fashion showcase,so they understand, they’re beautiful the way they are. Before they get on the runway they’ll meet with a stylist and MA to articulate their beauty and after they’ll meet a photographer to remember the beautiful moment.

Where will your project idea take place?

Mazury is an unpopulated area where the participants can be on par with nature.

What is the specific societal challenge faced by this region?

Disabled women are oftentimes seen as a weight on society, many people think of them as unattractive and not womanly. The challenges will show them, they can depend on themselves, and are independent of not disabled people. There will be made a documentary about their daily struggles and inequality in society's eye to show people they’re valid and should be heard. The film will be written in such Language so anyone could understand it and there will be a sign Language translater on screen. The documentary will lead to more disabled recognition in society and more confidence in themselves among the 13 disabled women. The eyes of society will open on the problem, which is socially muted, and change the perception of disabled women as strong, independent and feminine.

Who are you doing it for?

We will work with disabled women from all around Łódzkie voivodeship, especially smaller towns and villages where they’re more prone to find themselves as a target of ridicule and gossip. These women often feel excluded and are lacking a Chance of living a life they deserve as a worthy person. The audience will be the people watching the documentary, we’re hoping they will see the problems of disabled people all around the world and try voicing their opinions on the discrimination and prejudice of them in society

How do you plan to get there?

The info about recruitment of the lucky13will be given to media. The women will fill in application form, first round will be chosen according to their motivation, then randomly. The advantage will be women from smaller towns, and rural areas. No one will be discriminated against, and regardless of the type of disability. The applications will be evaluated in the same way,but we will make sure that for the purposes of participating in the camp the participants will differentiate-which will also open their eyes to different types of beauty. The participants will give permission to take part in the documentary and give the consent to take part in challenges.During the camp there will be a psychologist, nurse, volunteers on hand. We’ll help participants to feel loved and in contact with nature.

What are the expected results?

Our expected results are to inform people about the struggles and inequalities disabled people have to endure everyday, we’d also want to show the women who agreed to be a part of the documentary they’re capable of being the most beautiful, empowered version of themselves. The change we’re expecting is to bring Light to the situation and make more allies for all disabled people amongs the voivodeship, to change the perspective of the society on the disabilities, and make them to see the people in them – not their disability, so they do not put the label on them.

How does your idea strengthen active citizenship at a local and community level?

These times many disabled people are discriminated against and looked down upon just because of how they are. We want the inequality to not be so prevalent and to make the disabled women feel accepted, loved and needed. Just because of the discriminatio they may feel not worthy and self-conscious. While doing the challenges they will get to know each other and talk about their own experiences and Times they felt down just because of their disability. Where the women were looking for life there is way less recognition for them than in bigger areas, their families don' want to be seen as somehow weird so they don' give their disabled relatives a Chance of a normal life. They’re seen as a financial burden on their families and often are ridiculed for not conforming to a biased societies norms

Why is this idea important to you?

All members of our organization are women-we,the ones who have full abilities,we still struggle with our self-esteem and femininity on daily basis-we are bombarded with advertisements, trends and canonical beauty that we have to fit in with.We don’t agree with others creating the measurements of our femininity and the femininity of those who cant speak out loud about it,as taboo topic. Our motivation is to make people feel accepted and loved no matter who they are or from what background theyre coming from.We want to make the lives of the13woman more positive,we want the project to have a meaning in small villages where women are discriminated against and thought off as less just becuase of their gender and most disabled people are not valued the same as healthy people because of stereotypes
