Idea

Idea pitch

Support social economy initiatives with roots in the territory to combat the effects of COVID 19 on vulnerable populations in the neighbourhoods most affected by the pandemic. Collective enterprises with a clear option for territorial development for the benefit of citizens. Cooperatives in the hands of neighbourhood residents

Where will your project idea take place?

Neighbourhoods most affected by unemployment and COVID19. Neighbourhoods with the highest rate of pe

What is the specific societal challenge faced by this region?

Endemic structural problems:school failure unemployment 10.9% Poverty overflow 56.4%,Informal underwater Jobs. There is no business associationism Scarcity of social economy enterprises. Aggravated by coronavirus (most affected neighborhood)
Culture of vindication versus subsidization Historically critical and fighting population, of vindictive culture not always accompanied by citizen self-responsibility in the construction of alternatives to transform the situation
The generations of democracy, in a passive situation in the face of their reality of survival in accordance with what public services and free aid organizations d.
Many organizations of labor intermediation for others. but there are no initiatives to create social economy enterprisesCreating sustainable collective enterp

Who are you doing it for?

For the 8 cooperatives of the GKOOP group
New cooperatives in constitution and future to be constituted
Local administration.
Entities that work on labour insertion in the neighbourhood
Entrepreneurial population of the neighbourhoods
Secondary schools

How do you plan to get there?

The first milestone will be the creation of the Cooperative Group, for which a technical commission will be created, consisting of two profiles: community manager and technical professional to energize the whole process and disseminate the actions. The public presentation will be by means of a social economy day.
A second stage, three months later, will consist of a series of training actions of a creative and innovative nature that will allow the formation of an entrepreneurial profile and advice to promote the creation of economic initiatives with a social impact.
The third stage, 10 months after the start of the project, will consist of the creation of 5 services that will promote the sustainability of the economic initiatives launched

What are the expected results?

The group's cooperatives will be more sustainable, will generate more jobs and will coordinate their mission, vision, values, needs and challenges to join efforts and develop intercooperation projects.

- The resolution of needs from the creation and self-management of economic and social initiatives will be positively valued from the local society.
- There will be defined processes for the creation and consolidation of socially useful economic initiatives that generate stable alternatives in the territory.
- High value will be placed on a committed, democratic, collective business culture, personal and professional development, and the generation of synergies

How does your idea strengthen active citizenship at a local and community level?

To participate socially you have to want and be able. Having your basic needs covered is the first step to being able to exercise democracy beyond the vote. Being the owner of your own business and collectively sharing the responsibilities of it makes it possible to plan for social participation
Generate processes for the creation and consolidation of socially useful economic initiatives, from democratic and participatory processes of citizenship that generate stable alternatives in the territory.
- To live a committed, democratic, collective business culture of personal and professional development and contribution to the citizenship of the territory

Why is this idea important to you?

Two major motivations:
-From the cooperatives FAMYLIAS and ABIERTO UNTIL DAWN, we have been generating methodology for the constitution of cooperatives with vulnerable population, domestic employees, women in subsistence conditions, groups of underground economy, we have widely tested our method and we are in the moment of expansion of the methodology, multiplying results, but for it we need to join resources, to generate synergies
-It is necessary to demonstrate to the Vallecan society that it is possible to transform the situations of precariousness, to change the perspective of the subsidy for the generation of wealth and that for it all the people have something to contribute
