We are building a space in the south of Madrid that promotes neighborhood development and innovation. The social, urban, and economic situation of the neighborhood, and Villaverde district, has made us create a project launch, to follow up, coaching and mentoring the projects of our neighborhood, we really think this is our core force to implement the beautiness of our distric.

CINESIA takes place mainly in San Cristobal de los Ángeles, on the southern outskirts of Madrid.

We are a working class neighborhood, which historically has had a very low per capita income.
The industrial and transport infrastructure that surrounds us has made the neighborhood physically isolated from the rest of Madrid, making it difficult for the population of the rest of Madrid to even know the area.
Both characteristics have helped problems such as poverty and drug addiction become entrenched.

We have 45% immigration, with approximately 60 different nationalities, in a population of 18,000 inhabitants.
We have structural poverty, working poverty, and unemployment of great concern. Our strength is people from all over the world, this is our fortune, people ideas, dreams and experiences, that is our true wealth, and it is what we foster and seek through our project.
Our audience is everyone who needs a wide perspective of how amazing our world could be, if we work and enrichment each others.

We will create cohesive working groups, organized by competencies.
We will protocolize a work system that helps us to be more operational.
we will do activities that connect us more with each other.
we will connect our neighborhood with the rest of Madrid through open activities.
We will support and promote the individual experiences of each one of our fellow travelers.

Change the negative vision of our neighborhood, make known the social and cultural wealth of our streets, our people. If we could read positive news in national press, television, etc. about our neighborhood, it would be a success.

CINESIA tries to involve in our local community all citizens despite of their social condition, culture or nationality.
We encourage our inhabitants to develop their projects and ideas that improve the neighborhood and society. CINESIA actives our citizenship through campaigns such as educating people about democratic values, skills and participation.
We hold open doors and welcoming sessions so that our neighbors create synergies between the entire population.

This is a group work, but if I have to speak about what makes me work in this proyect, I would say that I have always believed that culture and education from love can change the world.
I feel that this project could change the world view of immigration, and the differences between us.
Show the world that the wealth of humanity lies in their differences, and that love between us, and not fear, will be what makes us freer.
I believe that this universal message is essential today, more than ever.
