If partnerships are not initiated by local governments, including them is very important. This way, governments are involved from the beginning
Meraki will provide workshops for children and education for parents, decision maker people and other residents, providing insufficient content on violence prevention to encourage active, full and responsible participation of children in the community and thus will contribute to solving peer violence in primary school, but also in the local environment. The workshops will include: methods of mediation, discussion and role play to acquire the necessary skills for non-violent conflict resolution
Kloštar Podravski - region Podravina
The existence of the problem was determined by the fact that all forms of violence are present, especially among children. It’s well know children are honest, but they also know how to behave very badly towards each other, especially children in primary school. In the area of the municipalities of Kloštar Podravski and Podravske Sesvete, also in whole region Podravina, there are residents with Roma ethnicity who live in their socio-economic circles, but they are not a national minority because they are declared Croats and thus have problems with acceptance by the community in which they live.
The target group that is directly affected by the activities are children (10-14 years). A total of about 500 participants are expected, of which about 100 will be Roma.
We will involve proponents / policy makers / implementers of public politics/teachers/parents- there will be operational and technical implementation in all segments of the project. One of the potential results of the project in the area of municipalities is the creation and supplementation of documents such as strategies that will be aimed at preventing violence against and among children.
The local community will be involved in the project activities by being able to participate in open education, round tables. Informing the general public about the implementation and results of the project will be done through media
The project includes activities:
-2 educational lectures with different stakeholders: decision maker people, local community, teachers, parents
-Advisory Violence Prevention Center
-2 open round table
-30 interactive workshops aimed at preventing violence against and among children in 10 schools, for children aged 10-14, more than 500+ children included
The workshops will include: methods of mediation, discussion and role play to acquire the necessary skills for non-violent conflict resolution.
Online counseling services will be available every day for a period of 5 months, and individual telephone counseling at least 5 days a week for at least 4 hours.
We will make an educational handbook, promo video of the project's results and create a website where we will post all materials
Looking at the long term, encouraging children to reduce peer violence can be very beneficial for the rural area covered by the project because such rural environments are a platform for violence prevention workshops and there is no non-profit organization to organize violence prevention activities. After the implementation of this project, the area of Podravina will experience a reduction in the number of violence against and among children. it is expected that the project will have an impact that will result in the establishment of long-term counseling for children, as victims of violence.

Roma in Podravina face unacceptable levels of poverty and social exclusion and are victims of extensive discrimination. First step towards empowerment them is education. Education has the power to transform a society in a positive way. It ensures protection from poverty, exploitation. Through interactive workshop, quality education imparts knowledge and skills to children. It also polishes individual skills. Moreover, education have the ability to change individual's behavior, developing their sense of social responsibility to their local communities. Our aim is strengthen partnerships of associations and other local stakeholders in the development and implementation of violence prevention projects against and among children and youth.
We want to be the voice of young people in Europe where young people are equal citizens and are encouraged and supported to achieve their fullest potential as global citizens. According to a 2003 survey by Child Protection Clinic on violence among primary school children, more than 20% of children are abused 2 to 3 times a month or more often. European research shows that 15% of children continuously suffer child abuse (Program of Activities for the Prevention of Violence among Children). The results of a survey conducted among first and second grade high school students (Rajhvajn, Bulat and Ajduković, 2012) show that every week 37.8% of students experience at least one form of peer violence, and 89.2% of surveyed high school students consider violence among young people a serious problem
