A plan to build a toxic and dangerous waste dump was make the people react against the big corporations and politicians from the capital . Once we won in our fight our goal was return the social peace and a group of local people creating this project to celebrate that there are other ways to be a succesful and recover the local economy without damaging the nature .We are proud to say that we proved that there are many creative ways to survive in the empty spain

The idea its that thanks to our Museum the economy of the town its improving, now we have 2 little stores, one bakery, 2 bars, one B&B ,we make guided visits and thanks to cultural tourism we are helping to the people who visit us to discover a beautiful area of Spain. that during the last 50 years has been isolated and unknown
the artist that come to our festival are adopted by the local families during one week, this is the best way to join two worlds , the artist help the old people of the town that never get out of this town to become curious and learn about what happens far away from their house.
Also we work with schools that comes to visit us, this is something absolutely positive in many aspects
Project works thanks to the voluntering, local people that open their homes to the artist, and also works thanks to the artist that make their work absolutely free.

2005 City Council planned the installation in its municipal area of a toxic and dangerous waste dump. The population of the small town of 280 people was divided between a few who were in favor and the majority of the population who were against the installation. Some of their neighbors, through a platform against the landfill, began an unwavering fight against the project. After many protests, presenting battle both socially and in court, the landfill project was definitely ruled out.
This was the seed of what we know today as MIAU, then we decided that it was necessary to do something positive for the people, something that would return the social peace that had been greatly deteriorated, Democracy and Culture are the pilars of our project
