Idea

Idea pitch

Project incubator for youth is an informal educational project. There will be prepared one-week workshop –an incubator for solidary project, where youth from 4 countries will work together on 5 solidary projects. After one-week team work there will be concepts of 5 projects which youth will prepare for next three months online. After three months they will come back and realize their projects. The results will consist of 5 projects for community and 20 youth will get new skills.

Where will your project idea take place?

Havířov, district of Karvina, Moravian-Silesian Region, the Czech Republic

What is the specific societal challenge faced by this region?

Five international teams will be crated for preparing solidary projects. At the beginning participants will be divided according to interests into 5 groups. Every group will have to find a small social problem which they would like to improve or eliminate. In the first week they have to think out the basic activity and budget of the projects. Next three month they will be preparing a plan for project realization with their coordinator. All details of the project will be planned and its promotion will be launched. After that they will come back to Havířov in the district of Karvina, they will realize their projects in one week. The last day we will prepare a common presentation and evaluation of the projects.

Who are you doing it for?

The main target group are 20 youth from CZ, Poland, Slovakia and Ukraine. They will come with representatives of partner institutions to Havířov and they will invent micro-project for local community. Young people will be divided into five groups, where each country will be represented in each group. Thanks to this, we will have international ones that can enrich each other. The next target groups are local communities which will be recipients of solidary projects. 5 project coordinators will be key figures who will control the preparation and implementation of the projects. They will be the links with the youth and with the local community

How do you plan to get there?

We will meet with 20 youth from 4 countries with each country coordinator at the workshop. incubator week. => There will be youth divided into 5 groups (every group has one coordinator). One week the youth invent their projects and go home. => For 3 months they will be working online in their groups with their coordinator on the project. => After 3 months they will return for one week to the Czech Republic and realize their project. => The last day in the Czech Republic all teams evaluate their projects and discuss which projects would be suitable for another countries. => Local community will get five solidary projects and the youth will get important experiences.

What are the expected results?

The change will include the implementation of 5 solidary micro-projects, which will be designed for the local community. The new approach will be seen there primarily in the involvement of young people from different countries, which can enrich solidary projects with new experiences. At the end the youth from different countries can realize proven solidary projects also in their regions. Thanks to this, it is possible to ensure the continuation of the project.

How does your idea strengthen active citizenship at a local and community level?

In the first phase we want to join 5 youth from 4 different countries. We will create 5 international teams in which young people from four different countries will be represented. They will be led to come up with a common solidary project that will be a benefit for the local community. After that they will learn how to plan a project. After planning they will realize the project and get a feedback from the community. If the pilot projects are successful, we assume that the participants will also implement them in their region.

Why is this idea important to you?

We believe that young people learn best through trying and discovering. Project incubator is a harbour for young people who want to do something good but don't know how. Young people can come up with an idea and we help them to realize it. They can come to us also without any idea but with the motivation of doing some solidarity project and we can help them to find their mission. Non-profit organizations can also tell us their needs and we are looking for young people to help them. From the idea, young people, under the direction of our coordinator, prepare the project and the project plan. In case they need to find funds for a community project, we help them with applying. The coordinator teaches them how realize the project. Youth learn solidarity, project management and entrepreneurship
