The Project aims to train volunteers and Third Sector operators and make them specialists in terms of issues and processes related to social dialogue. Our core activity is the educational program (for young and women) focused on social dialogue. By this, we wont to achieve 3 results: 1) enhance the civic consciousness, 2) increase the inclusion of people at risk of “social exclusion”, 3) increase “occupability” of young and women; 4) ameliorate quality of social workers.

The project will take place mainly in the area of ​​the locride (Calabria)

The area of Locride is characterized by economic and social difficulties, Located in the extreme south of Italy, the vast district of Locride in Calabria experiences the condition of a geographically isolated territory in which one of the highest European unemployment rates of youth and young NEETs is concentrated, with an average of 65% of young people jobless. Just the weakness of "social capital" and the lack of investment in the "social infrastructure" field means that all investments in "physical capital" are misused.

The project aims to channel these social energies towards constructive aggregative systems, capable of creating work and social integration in an autopoietic way, without any public mediation and involving, first of all, young people.
By virtue of the weak points of the locride context, i.e. female employment and youth employment, the recipients will be selected by means of a manifestation of public interest and will be divided according to the following characteristics:
- 30% women volunteers and / or employed and / or associates in third sector entities
- 30% young volunteers and / or employed and / or associates under 30 years
- 40% employed and / or volunteers and / or associates in third sector entities

The title, "bridging the social gap" highlights how through the training courses put in place by the proposing realities we intend to bridge, or try to bridge, the social gap in the local community in Locride.
So, we'd like to
1) involve people to "participate" in local community and third sector associations by
territorial animation activities
2) promote the enrollments in the educational program
3) deliver the educational program (in formal and not formal manner)
4) test di capabilities of "trained" involving them in local associations' activities

The results of our activites are related to:
- Create professional and entrepreneurial skills in the sector of social dialogue, community programming and planning, to create a new generation of social workers
- Promote an adequate dissemination of a social and well-being culture among volunteers
- Creation of adequate conditions for the reuse of knowledge and future training activities ("training of trainers").

The project starts from the assumption that social dialogue is a powerful civic tool to create the conditions suitable for lasting and stable socio-economic growth, because it is built on the pillars of territorial identity, the enhancement of social capital and solidarity. For this reason it is the Third Sector, which in the Locride is however very present and active, which can and must become a social vanguard at the service of local institutions, citizens and businesses, directing them to forms of ethical and solidarity development.

We live in lcoride, and we know how much is heavy the stigma about local criminality, and, mainly,how high is the risk of social exclusion for young people and women born in this area.
Through our project, we want to give meaning to the "places" of being together and to "relationships" by strengthening social dialogue. For us, this could be a very good opportunity for local citizens,
