The city of Ozalj, Croatia
A big problem of this area is that there is a large number of residents who travel to work outside their area every day, which reduces the interest in social activities and their organization. With this project, the Association of Entrepreneurs and Partners will enable the involvement of young people in the world of entrepreneurship, and prepare them for the future, but also improve their knowledge, skills and creativity.
The target groups in this project are older kindergarten children (preschool age 6 and 7), primary school students, primary school children on the autism spectrum, primary school children on the gifted spectrum, high school students (1-4), students. At the end of classes, children, pupils and students sometimes lack follow-up activities or simply need the company of peers. Therefore, the opportunity to participate in the camp is more than welcome. This environment builds a young person's self-confidence, contributes to a positive self-image and awareness of the importance of acquiring technical-technological and entrepreneurial knowledge and the necessary discipline and helps develop work habits.
Today, in an ever-changing and complex world, it is important to bring knowledge and skills to collect and evaluate data, solve problems and make decisions for generations to come. These are skills that children, pupils and students develop in science, technology, engineering and mathematics - the disciplines of STEM. If we want a future in which our leaders, entrepreneurs and workers have the ability to understand and address the complex challenges of today and tomorrow and meet the demands of a dynamic workforce, it is essential to develop skills and knowledge in STEM areas. It is also necessary to ensure access to a quality learning environment, no matter where we are and where we live. Based on previous initiatives, we consider it appropriate to expand the STEM area with the letter "A" for art, which gives the acronym STEAM. Thematic workshops: robotics, mechatronics, electrical engineering.
The main goal of this project proposal is motivation and quality education in which participants acquire new technical-technological and entrepreneurial skills directly and easily in a much shorter time than is usually needed in the regular teaching process. Stimulating environment, excellent experts and pedagogues and motivated students work together to improve their talents and socialize, while recognizing and acknowledging their character virtues and working on their potential flaws. This environment builds the self-confidence of young people, contributes to a positive image of themselves and awareness of the importance of acquiring technical-technological and entrepreneurial knowledge and the necessary discipline and work habits.
In order for a child or young person to develop entrepreneurial knowledge, skills and attitudes and potentially engage in entrepreneurship in their further life, it is necessary to possess the psychological characteristics that make an entrepreneur an individual. Entrepreneurship is a trait that needs to be developed, and allows an individual to focus on creating entrepreneurial opportunities. It is necessary in all areas of life, and it is most evident in choosing a profession or building a business path (career). The workshops will enable more young people to become an active part of the community, as they will acquire many skills and knowledge from various fields, which will enable them to be actively involved in the social and political life of the community.
The main holder of project activities will be members of the Udruga Poduzetni, who will be in charge of the implementation of project activities, while the employees of the Primary school Ozalj will be in charge of organizing the event because they know the area best. Together, all partners will be in charge of attracting young people to this type of activity, and will try to attract as many stakeholders as possible. The vision of the project is to become an internationally unique camp for the development of young people with a technological and entrepreneurial idea, and the mission is to contribute to innovative workshops and develop creativity, responsibility as well as technical and entrepreneurial competencies of young people.
