Idea pitch

Get families who want to enjoy a cultural exchange welcoming an athlete of the same discipline that their child practices and thus be able to also send their child to another country under the same conditions.
The practice of sport will bring the two players closer and will facilitate their integration since they speak the "same sports language".
It will be the best and cheapest way to get a cultural exchange and personal enrichment of young athletes.
the family and community improve also.

Where will your project idea take place?

Villanueva del Pardillo, Madrid. Spain It is a small village 40 km far for Madrid

What is the specific societal challenge faced by this region?

The middle class predominates in our location. Most of them receive a free quality education but do not have access to travel to other countries to get to know a different culture and language in first person. With this plan we would bring this possibility closer to a population that could not otherwise afford it.

Who are you doing it for?

We are aimed at young people who want to quench their age-related concerns by learning different ways to solve the same problems.
A solution for families who want a tolerant and plural education for their children and cannot afford to pay for a conventional exchange program.
Use sport as a tool to make adaptation to a new environment easier.

How do you plan to get there?

The first thing will be to find non-profit sports clubs in Europe that want to participate in the program and offer it to their players.
Then make a bank of family profiles of all the clubs. So that they can connect with each other and decide which family and from which country they want to make the exchange.
Once the families are connected, they will be guided throughout the exchange process, both when a child travels and when they receive their guest.

What are the expected results?

If we are chosen, we will be able to dedicate resources to design the program, contact sports clubs to explain the idea to them and to join the project and give confidence to the participating families.
Every athlete who benefits from the program is a life that changes completely for the better, and their influence on society will make them more tolerant.

How does your idea strengthen active citizenship at a local and community level?

When from a young age you know another country, with another culture and another language and also make friends there. Your worldview changes completely, your mind opens, and you become more tolerable for the rest of your life.
It is decisive the experiences that one has during childhood when it comes to forging the character of a person. This intercultural experience will be decisive in his or her education.

Why is this idea important to you?

We would like to be able to offer our young people the best opportunities to participate in building a better, fairer and more tolerant world.
Our action is what makes the difference, we must be actors who contribute to change and improvement. It is impossible to improve the world or our community without a proactive attitude.
Sport is a very powerful tool that must be used with common sense to get its positive side.
The combination of sport and cultural exchange is difficult to improve.
